I started lying down to meditate while transitioning from work to relaxation the last few weeks and it has been incredible!! It feels so indulgent. And I've also been meditating while petting my dogs and it's been really fun. <3
YES, Katie. Love to hear that you have given yourself permission to lay down and that it feels indulgent. Here's to embracing more of the little indulgences in our lives. And, how sweet with the pups. It's my favorite when Jai jai hops up on my belly when I am meditating - the sweetest connection and bliss. Thanks for sharing Katie.
I have never heard of the concept of 'instinctive meditation' although this is what I was always intuitively drawn to. Initially I gave myself a heard time for not being to meditate in pure stillness and focusing on one thing, as it was instructed to me in my Yoga teacher training.
When I discovered somatics, I naturally shifted into a way of meditating that involved self-touch, micro-movements, stretches, big loud outbreaths and anything else that felt good. It still shifts and changes based on my needs, and I am so happy that I did not push myself to conform to the more traditional styles.
I will explore the idea of Joy as the starting point and see where it takes me. Thank you ♡
Soo happy you did not PUSH or FORCE yourself to conform to the traditional ways Alexandra. You continue to meet yourself inside of the space of “practice.” Yes yes yes. You have found a community where that is encouraged , admired and talked about. Yay! Would love to hear your updates on using JOY as a doorway. Thanks for being here lovely! ✨💗✨
Do what you love!!! I love that. What resonates with me is there is no wrong way or right way for meditation. In the past it was like this strict guide book and if didn’t follow it, I failed. I plan on rereading the post several times as I just skimmed through it now. As always you are an inspiration to me and others. Love you!

You are very welcome Laura. Welcome welcome and delighted to have you here with us. ✨
You know how much I love this, Heather! Thank you for sharing your story. I've always encouraged my students to "play" with the practice.
Yes! YeS! Let's bring more play, exploration and adventuring into the practice. Thank you for cultivating an open mind and heart lovely Paulette.
We can be so hard on ourselves, even in meditation. I love how you offered other ways to approach and experience the practice.
Thank you Paulette.
